Notificador de Gmail para Ubuntu 11.04
Antes de instalar Ubuntu 11.04 solía usar Gmail Notify para saber si tenía correos nuevos pero tenía algunos inconvenientes:
– El icono de notificación de nuevos correos tenía la apariencia de versiones antiguas de Ubuntu y no se adaptaba a las nuevas.
– Al hacer click sobre el icono no te llevaba a la página de Gmail
Ahora os voy a proponer que uséis GmailWatcher el cual hace uso del Me Menú (el menú de notificaciones de redes sociales, correo…)

- Soporte Google Apps
- Ubuntu Messaging Menu & Notification
- Vista email sumario
- Soporte de themes para vista sumario
- Notificationes por etiquetas
- Puede ser detenido por cierto tiempo para ahorrar ancho de banda
- Toda la configuración, excepto las contraseñas se sincronizan a traves de Ubuntu One
- Las contraseñas se guardan Gnome-Keyring
Para instalarlo:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:loneowais/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gmailwatcher

Añadir los repositorios con el siguiente comando:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:loneowais/ppa
Actualizar los repositorios con el siguiente comando:
sudo apt-get update
Instalar GmailWatcher con el siguiente comando:
sudo apt-get install gmailwatcher
